In this unit, I took high-key portraits, low-key portraits, candid portraits, and even a portrait recreating a painting. Here are some portraits I took this unit:



I like portrait photography because I love capturing human emotions through facial expressions and body movements in images. The lighting set-ups I used vary from harsh lights on the cove to create shadows to natural lighting from portraits outside. Here is my painting recreation with Charlotte Rubens as the model:





I edited this photo to make it look more like the painting using the Lightroom effects of cropping and adding a warm tint to it. This is the original image for comparison:



This is my favorite image I took this unit:


I didn't necessarily have an intention with this image, I just wanted to capture an up-close and raw image of Devon. I love this image because you can see all the details of her face and can sense her emotion in the moment. I think this image is strong because of the framing, focus, and the black and white filter I put on it. To achieve this image I just took pictures of her while she talked to me and I told her to close her eyes for a moment. The only challenge was just making sure the image was completely focused and sharp.
